Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen has called on newly graduated police officers to place public safety and security at the centre of their duties, while serving with integrity, fairness, and dedication.

He made the remarks at the graduation ceremony of the 41st Basic Training Course of the Maldives Police Service, marking the formal induction of a new batch of officers into the force.

Addressing the graduates, the Commissioner described policing as a demanding profession and a responsibility of national importance. He emphasised that the police uniform represents public trust and justice, and reminded officers that courage, discipline, determination, and impartiality are essential qualities in carrying out their duties.

The ceremony also marked a historic milestone for the Maldives Police Service, as Imsha Abdul Latheef became the first female officer in the programme’s 41 batches to be awarded Best All-Round Student. She received the Commissioner’s Excellence Award in recognition of her outstanding performance.

Commissioner Naveen noted that the achievement reflects progress within the institution and serves as an inspiration for future officers, reaffirming the service’s commitment to professionalism and equal opportunity.
