The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSFD) has unveiled a new training initiative designed to empower women entrepreneurs in the Maldives. The programme, 'Empowering Women Entrepreneurs through Digital Transformation,' will provide participants with critical tools and knowledge to succeed in today’s digital-driven business environment.
Running from December 14 to 16, 2024, the three day event will focus on three key areas: digital technologies, financial management, and business continuity planning. With 100 seats available, the sessions will be conducted in English and are open to members of Women’s Development Committees (WDCs), NGOs, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and small and medium business owners.
The Ministry has extended the registration deadline to December 9, 2024, encouraging aspiring businesswomen to seize this valuable opportunity to enhance their skills and grow their ventures.
The programme is a collaborative effort between the MSFD, the WiFi initiative, and ESCAP-APCICT (the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific - Asian and Pacific Training Centre for ICT for Development). It emphasises the Maldives’ ongoing commitment to gender equality and economic empowerment through the use of digital tools.
