Hulhumalé Green Nursery land has been officially handed over to China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd (CHEC), taking a new step toward the Maldives’ ongoing Five Million Trees Project. The handover was finalised during a ceremony held in Hulhumalé, with the development being carried out as grant aid from the People’s Republic of China. According to the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, the project is being implemented in partnership with the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) and aims to work toward strengthening island ecosystems and increasing climate-resilient greenery nationwide.
