The Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has started operations of its flu clinic, particularly to cater to Umrah pilgrims returning to the Maldives.

According to IGMH, patients seeking flu clinic services must first report to the Emergency Room (ER) Triage, where tokens will be issued through the QueBee System. Based on triage assessment, patients will then be directed either to the emergency room or the flu clinic.

The hospital stated that doctor consultations and phlebotomy services will be available daily from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Room No. 10.

IGMH noted that this period typically sees an increase in respiratory illnesses as pilgrims return from Umrah.

Meanwhile, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported a rise in dengue fever cases compared to the previous month. In addition to dengue, seasonal flu and influenza cases are also on the rise, underscoring the importance of enhanced clinical services during this time.
