Road Development Corporation (RDC) Chief Operating Officer Mohamed Shareef has inspected the corporation’s ongoing projects in Alifu Dhaalu Hangnaameedhoo, including the development of a police post and a football ground.

Shareef was accompanied by a senior delegation during the visit, where progress on both projects was reviewed.

RDC was contracted in March last year to develop the football ground. The project includes the supply and installation of artificial turf, along with the construction of perimeter fencing around the field.

Work on the police post was inaugurated during President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to Hangnaameedhoo in October 2025. The project is part of the Administration’s policy to establish dedicated police facilities across the country.

The Government announced in October 2025 that it had achieved nationwide police presence across all inhabited islands. The ongoing development of police posts is aimed at further strengthening law enforcement infrastructure and accessibility at the island level.
