The Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Welfare  has reported that 75 per cent of the greenhouses planned for Shaviyani Goidhoo have been completed under the Maldives Agribusiness Programme (MAP) implemented in partnership with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

Supported by the Goidhoo Island Council, the project reflects the island’s strong agricultural focus, with 10 local farms achieving Maldives Good Agricultural Practice (MGAP) certification, completing the first five modules introduced nationwide. In addition, a produce collection facility has been established to improve market access for farmers, with procurement of machinery currently underway.
