President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has met with representatives of the Thulusdhoo Council and the Women’s Development Committee (WDC) to address developmental concerns raised by the island’s community. The meeting was held at the Secretariat of the Huraa Council in Malé Atoll.

During the discussions, council members outlined challenges faced by residents and proposed a range of initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure and services. High on their agenda was the need to expedite the construction of the hospital’s foundation and the development of roads, which they deemed critical for enhancing living standards and accessibility on the island.

The council also emphasised the importance of creating facilities to support youth engagement in sports and other activities, requesting the allocation of land to enable such initiatives. Additionally, the introduction of a waste management system was highlighted as an essential measure to improve the quality of life on the island.

Members of the Women’s Development Committee also shared their concerns and their perspectives on how the issues impact Thulusdhoo’s residents.

President Dr Muizzu, accompanied by Cabinet Ministers, reassured attendees of the Government’s commitment to addressing these challenges. Ministers provided updates on ongoing development projects in Thulusdhoo, offering insights into progress and plans to meet the island’s needs.

The President assured them that the concerns raised would be prioritised and that efforts to implement solutions would commence promptly.
