President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has returned to Malé after completing a tour of North Ari Atoll and Male’ Atoll, as part of his initiative to engage directly with local councils and communities across the Maldives.

During the trip, the President met with residents, council members, and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) representatives from various islands.

The consultations focused on addressing local development needs and gathering feedback on community priorities, with discussions centred on development, infrastructure, and social welfare. 

This visit marks a key milestone in the President’s nationwide council consultation programme, which began earlier this year. To date, the President has engaged with representatives from 185 councils, demonstrating his Administration’s focus on strengthening local governance and ensuring the voices of island communities are heard.

A senior government delegation accompanied the President throughout the trip, ensuring coordinated follow-up on issues raised during the consultations.

This continued engagement underscores the Administration’s dedication to collaboration between the central government and local councils to address the nation’s pressing developmental challenges.
