Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) has officially begun its services in K.Himmafushi, following a formal inauguration by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.

As part of its mission to promote cleanliness across the Maldives, WAMCO is extending waste collection services to households, construction sites, and businesses on the island. The initiative aligns with the Government’s national plan to address solid waste management issues across residential areas.

WAMCO is already operational in several regions, including Malé City, Kulhudhuffushi, Thinadhoo, and Maafushi. The services include waste collection and disposal at regional waste management centres, with efforts also directed towards raising public awareness about proper waste handling practices.

The company has expanded its reach to include waste collection services from resorts, further contributing to sustainable waste management across the Maldives.
