Voters have two days remaining to re-register their polling location ahead of the Local Council  and the Women’s Development Committee (WDC) elections scheduled for 4 April 2026.

The commission said applications for voter re-registration are open until 3:00 p.m. on Monday, 16 February 2026. The re-registration window allows voters to change their polling location if they intend to vote at a location other than the one they were registered at during the 2024 parliamentary elections.

The commission said voters can check their current registration details by sending an SMS in the format “VR [space] ID number” to 1414, or by using the online registration portal on the Elections Commission website.

The Local Council and Women’s Development Committee elections are scheduled to be held in 48 days. The Elections Commission said a total of 294,937 people are eligible to vote in the elections, including 144,527 women and 150,410 men.
