Maldive Gas has announced that the recent shortage of cooking gas has been resolved following the arrival of a new shipment.

In a statement issued on Monday, the company said the supply situation has now stabilised, with 10kg gas cylinders once again available for customers.

Maldive Gas noted that it has been working to ensure uninterrupted supply to all customers and minimise inconvenience. As part of managing the shortage prior to the shipment’s arrival, the company had temporarily limited the sale of 10kg cylinders to ensure fair distribution.

The company assured that, with the arrival of the new shipment, customers will now be able to access gas without disruption.

The temporary supply challenges come amid rising global prices for fuel and gas, linked to escalating tensions in the Middle East. These developments have impacted international supply chains and contributed to price increases.

Despite these challenges, the Government has been taking steps to ensure the continued availability of fuel and gas in the Maldives, while working to minimise the impact of global price fluctuations on the public.
