Applications have been opened for land plots in Rasmalé under the Binveriyaa Scheme, with the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure inviting submissions until April 30.

Under the scheme, 1,250 square feet land plots will be leased from Rasmalé, with applications to be submitted through the Government’s housing portal, in efforts to expand access to housing through land allocation.

The Binveriyaa Scheme allows eligible applicants who agree to relinquish previously allocated land under joint ownership arrangements to receive individual plots, while also extending eligibility to individuals who had received flats under earlier housing schemes but were unable to apply under the previous policy.

Applicants are required to submit supporting documentation including marriage certificates where applicable, proof of land or flat ownership, declarations of rights and proof of residence in Malé, with detailed requirements published in the Government Gazette.

The initiative forms part of the Rasmalé housing project, under which land reclamation is being carried out across multiple phases, with a total of 1,009 hectares planned for development as an eco-city, while the Government has announced plans to allocate up to 15,000 land plots under the project.
