Maldives Police Service has expressed gratitude to the public across Greater Malé Region and the atolls for their cooperation during the local council, Women’s Development Committee (WDC) elections and public referendum.

In a statement, police said the support and compliance shown by citizens during the voting process played a key role in maintaining security and ensuring the smooth conduct of the elections, despite the unusually hot weather conditions.

Police confirmed that no major security incidents were reported during the elections and that no arrests were made in connection with any election-related cases.

The service also highlighted the efforts of officers deployed nationwide, noting their role in maintaining order at polling stations and assisting voters and election officials throughout the day.

Police reiterated their commitment to ensuring public safety and maintaining peace during national processes.
