German tourist arrivals to the Maldives have exceeded 50,000 so far this year, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation.

A total of 754,793 tourists have visited the Maldives to date, with Germany ranking fifth among source markets at 50,186 arrivals. China leads with 109,228 arrivals, followed by Russia with 93,602, the United Kingdom with 69,627 and Italy with 62,651, while other key markets include India, France, the United States, Switzerland and Australia.

According to the statistics, 506,606 tourists stayed in resorts, which continue to account for the majority of tourist accommodation in the Maldives, as overall arrivals maintain a steady upward trend.

The Maldives recorded two million tourist arrivals in 2025, with the Government targeting 2.5 million arrivals by the end of this year.
