President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that true care for children lies in teaching them both religion and worldly knowledge, while preparing them to become responsible individuals in the future.
The President made the remarks in a message shared on X to celebrate Children’s Day, observed annually in the Maldives on May 10. He extended greetings and good wishes to children across the country and their families.
In his message, President Dr Muizzu said providing children with proper education and upbringing suited to their age is a shared responsibility of both the Government and society. He noted that guiding children with values and knowledge plays an important role in shaping a responsible future generation.
The President also appealed to the public not to engage in any language or actions that could negatively affect the wellbeing or normal lives of children, stressing the importance of maintaining a safe and supportive environment for them.
