The Government has opened registration for businesses to participate in the upcoming Addu City Business Dialogue as part of efforts to strengthen Addu City as a major trade and investment hub.

The business dialogue is scheduled to take place from June 13 to 14, with participation now open to businesses operating in Addu City. Registration will remain open until June 12.

Held under the theme “Increasing the participation of small and medium enterprises in shaping their future,” the forum will focus on investment opportunities, business incentives and Government policies aimed at supporting enterprises in Addu City.

The event will bring together stakeholders from various sectors to share information on opportunities, concessions and future development plans available for businesses.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu highlighted the Addu City Business Dialogue during the 2026 Presidential Address at the opening of the 20th People’s Majlis, where he outlined plans to establish investment zones for small and medium enterprises across the country.

According to the Government, the initiative also supports plans to develop Addu City into a national IT hub.

The forum will include participation from businesses in tourism, fisheries, construction and other industries, along with several Government agencies including the ministries responsible for homeland security, fisheries, tourism and finance.

The Government also aims to introduce special concessions for businesses operating in Addu City between 2027 and 2029.
