President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that issues arising from the Government’s pay harmonisation process for civil service and judicial employees have now been resolved.

Speaking at a press conference held on Monday, the President acknowledged that some employees did not receive salary increases under the pay equalisation initiative, while others received lower salaries than before following the adjustments.

President Dr Muizzu said the Government has now addressed the concerns and assured that the positive impact of the revised pay structure will be reflected in the next salary payment. He added that the main issues affected employees working in human resource departments, judicial sector staff and employees in certain council positions.

Additionally, the President stated that all identified concerns would be resolved with this month’s salary payments and that affected employees would see salary increases. He further noted that solutions would continue to be provided for employees facing individual issues related to the harmonisation process.

The President added that the Pay Commission is also working on solutions for long-serving employees affected by salary structure concerns.
