No discrepancies found in People’s Majlis 2024 financial records: Audit report

The Auditor General’s Office has stated that the financial records of the People’s Majlis for 2024 were maintained in compliance with the State’s financial regulations.

Audit report on the People’s Majlis for the 2024 financial year show that no discrepancies were identified between the figures included in the approved budget and expenditure statement for the year ending 31 December 2024 and the records maintained in the Public Accounting System.

The report also noted that expenditure from the Majlis budget during 2024 had been carried out within the limits approved under the budget and in line with the Public Finance Act and the State financial regulations.

In addition, the Auditor General’s Office stated that other financial operations of the People’s Majlis during the year were also managed in accordance with the Public Finance Act and State financial rules.

A budget of MVR 198.8 million had been approved for the People’s Majlis for 2024. Of that amount, total expenditure at the end of the year stood at MVR 190.1 million.
