President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has declared Thursday, January 2, 2025, as a Government holiday.

The announcement was made by the President’s Office this evening.

President's Office said the decision aims to provide Government employees with an extended break, seamlessly connecting the New Year public holiday on Wednesday, January 1, to the weekend.

This uninterrupted period of rest is expected to offer a more relaxed start to the year for public sector workers.
