Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) and the Maumoon Foundation have signed an agreement aimed at expanding higher education opportunities for Maldivian students through a scholarship programme at the Maldives National University (MNU).
The agreement was signed by Faris Maumoon on behalf of the Maumoon Foundation and MWSC Managing Director Hussain Fahmy on behalf of the company. According to MWSC, the initiative forms part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme and is intended to create additional opportunities for students seeking to pursue higher education.
Under the agreement, MWSC will sponsor a Master's degree scholarship at MNU. The company said the initiative is expected to contribute to the development of skilled professionals while supporting efforts to strengthen the country's education sector through greater access to postgraduate studies.
MWSC noted that the partnership reflects its commitment to supporting national development through education-focused CSR initiatives. The company said it believes the scholarship programme will help create new opportunities for students while contributing to the growth of a more qualified workforce.
Fahmy also expressed support for the work of the Maumoon Foundation and assured that MWSC would continue to collaborate on initiatives aimed at supporting education and human capital development in the Maldives.
