Minister of Islamic Affairs and Endowments Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has credited President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's guidance and support for the successful completion of this year's Hajj pilgrimage.

Minister Dr Shaheem said the President had consistently encouraged efforts to ensure that Maldivian pilgrims were able to perform Hajj in the best possible manner. He noted that the President had given special attention to the successful organisation of this year's pilgrimage and to strengthening services provided to pilgrims.

The minister said Hajj Corporation had established a comprehensive administrative system to facilitate the pilgrimage, while describing Saudi Arabia's decision to include the Maldives in the Mecca Route Initiative as a major milestone that further enhanced arrangements for Maldivian pilgrims.

Minister Dr Shaheem also thanked Hajj Corporation Managing Director Mohamed Shakeel, the corporation's staff, pilgrim assistants, healthcare workers and others involved in organising this year's pilgrimage. He further expressed appreciation to staff of the ministry's Hajj and Umrah section and members of the Maldivian Hajj Mission established in Makkah during the Hajj season.

The minister said the successful completion of Hajj was made possible through the efforts of the Saudi government and the dedication of those involved in organising the pilgrimage. He also acknowledged the support provided by Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and other relevant authorities.

He added that the ministry would continue efforts to further improve Hajj and Umrah services for Maldivians in the years ahead.
