Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) has launched a month-long joint digital marketing campaign with Maldiviana to increase the Maldives' visibility and attract more travellers from the Russian market.

The campaign is being carried out in partnership with Maldiviana, a travel operator with offices in Malé and Moscow that specialises in promoting Maldives holidays to Russian-speaking travellers.

According to VMC, the initiative seeks to position the Maldives as a preferred holiday destination through targeted online advertising, destination storytelling and promotional content tailored to the Russian market. The campaign is expected to strengthen online engagement, generate travel interest and drive traffic to the Maldives' official tourism platforms.

The collaboration forms part of VMC's ongoing efforts to maintain a strong presence in Russia, one of the Maldives' key tourism source markets.

As of 14 May 2026, Russia ranked as the second-largest source market for the Maldives, accounting for 13.4 per cent of total tourist arrivals with 112,718 visitors. Statistics show that the majority of Russian tourists stayed at resorts, while others opted for guesthouses, hotels and liveaboard vessels.

VMC said the Russian market continues to demonstrate steady demand for leisure and luxury travel, with the Maldives remaining a popular year-round destination. The corporation added that increased flight connectivity, including additional services by Aeroflot, further reflects sustained interest among Russian travellers.
