Maldives Zakat House has extended the application deadline for its Higher Education Scholarship and Special Scholarship Programme until 2:00 p.m. on 16 August, giving eligible applicants an additional month to complete their submissions.

The scholarship programme supports Maldivian students pursuing Master's (Level 9) and Doctoral (Level 10) studies both in the Maldives and overseas. The application deadline had originally been set for 16 July.

Under the programme, 40 scholarships are available, including 10 for studies in the Maldives and 20 for studies abroad. It also includes five stipend-based scholarships for Maldivian students currently studying in Saudi Arabia and Egypt, as well as five scholarships to support the training of female doctors in fields related to women's health.

Zakat House also continues to accept proposals for fields of study beyond those listed under the scholarship programme, provided applicants can demonstrate how the proposed field would contribute to the development of Maldivian Islamic society. Applicants choosing this option are required to submit their proposals using the template available on the Zakat House website.
