President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has launched a nationwide initiative to establish fuel storage facilities across all atolls by February 2026, aiming to provide fuel at base rates to local fishermen and the public. The project will start with setups in Hulhumale’ and Addu City, expanding to other islands such as Fuvahmulah, Nilandhoo, and Dhuvaafaru. This initiative fulfils a key pledge in the Dhivehinge Raajje manifesto to address the country's long-standing fuel access challenges.
