The Development Bank of Maldives (DBM), launched in November 2024, is set to follow a three-phase implementation strategy focusing initially on institutional setup. The bank will prioritise institutional investors and large infrastructure projects before expanding into retail services. Minister Saeed indicated the bank's rollout is progressing as planned whilst claiming financial stability has been achieved despite previous mismanagement.
