Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan announced that authorities have intercepted 183 kilograms of narcotics valued at MVR 333 million, preventing them from reaching the community.

Speaking at the 'Haftha 52' programme, Minister Ihusaan highlighted recent efforts to strengthen security at the Maldives’ main entry points, both by sea and air, to block the flow of illegal drugs into the country.

The Minister also addressed ongoing challenges with scam calls originating from within prisons and outlined actions taken to disrupt drug operations inside detention facilities. Several prison officials were recently disciplined for their involvement in these operations.

Minister Ihusaan reiterated his commitment to enhancing law enforcement efforts and securing the nation against drug trafficking.
