Sinan Ali has been appointed as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

Sinan has been a member of the MTCC board on multiple occasions, most recently serving from 2019 until earlier this month. His expertise extends beyond MTCC, having held leadership positions in several state-owned enterprises. Notably, he served as Chairperson of the State Electric Company (STELCO) and as a director at Island Aviation, demonstrating his broad experience in strategic decision-making and corporate oversight.

In addition to his contributions to the public sector, Sinan has had a distinguished career in the media industry. He began as a journalist at Miadhu before moving to Haveeru, later taking on the role of Chief Executive Officer at Sun Media Group. He currently serves as the CEO of One Online, further cementing his influence in the Maldivian media landscape.

His dedication to journalism has been recognised at the national level. In 2015, he was awarded the National Award of Recognition for his contributions to the field. Over the course of two decades, he played a key role in shaping Maldivian media, including a decade-long tenure as CEO of Sun TV from 2008 to 2018.

Sinan holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Anglia Ruskin University in the United Kingdom.
