President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has sent official congratulations to The Republic of The Gambia as the West African nation marks its Independence Day on February 18.

In his message, President Dr Muizzu conveyed warm wishes on behalf of the Maldivian government and its citizens to The Gambia's President Adama Barrow.

He further extended personal messages of goodwill for President Barrow's health and happiness while expressing hopes for the nation's continued progress and prosperity.

The Gambia observes its Independence Day annually on February 18, commemorating the day it gained independence.
