The Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) has announced changes to household waste collection timings across the Male' area during Ramadan.

Speaking to state media, WAMCO’s Manager Ibrahim Haneef stated that during this year's Ramadan, waste collection in Male' will operate from 8:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. In Hulhumale', collection will run from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., while in Vilimale', the service will operate from 9:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

To help residents adjust to these changes, Haneef said the new schedule will come into effect from February 23.

He urged households to place their waste outside before the collection time, explaining that it would be difficult to service properties that put out their waste after collection has begun.
