President appoints Abdulla Nashid as ACC Vice President

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Abdulla Nashid as the Vice President of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) of Maldives, following parliamentary approval.

The appointment, made under Section 7 of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act was confirmed after review by Parliament on February 17, 2025. 

The ACC, an independent institution established under the Constitution ratified on August 7, 2008, is responsible for investigating corruption cases, recommending prosecutions, and advising authorities on anti-corruption measures.

The Commission is chaired by Al-Ustaz Adam Shamil and includes members Al-Ustaz Shiyama Mohamed, Shazna Hashim, Ahmed Nashid, and Abdulla Nashid. Abdulla Nashid, who was appointed as a member of the ACC in January 2025, previously held key positions at the commission from 2011 to 2015.
