Preparations are underway to develop an atoll-level police station and launch three additional community projects in Noonu Manadhoo, as part of the Government’s wider development push across the Maldives. 

In a social media update, the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) announced (MTCC) that it will construct a children’s park, develop an outdoor gym, and establish a fitness and recreation centre alongside the new police station.

Project sites have already been established on the island, which is home to around 2,000 residents. MTCC stated that the developments aim to improve public services and strengthen social infrastructure on the island.

The company, which continues to lead numerous government infrastructure initiatives across the country, also shared progress updates on other projects.

According to the latest figures, the majority of the harbour development project in Baa Maalhos has been completed. Meanwhile, 63 per cent of the land reclamation project in Gaafu Alifu Kolamaafushi is now finished. MTCC also confirmed that work is ongoing on the Haa Dhaalu Nolhivaranfaru harbour development.
