Minister Iruthisham receives Diplomat of the Year for Asia and Oceania award

Minister of Foreign Affairs Iruthisham Adam has received the “Diplomat of the Year for Asia and Oceania” award.
The award is presented annually by The Diplomat magazine in recognition of outstanding diplomatic service in the region.
In a post shared on social media, the magazine noted that Minister Iruthisham was selected for her contributions during her tenure as the Maldives’ High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
Minister Iruthisham was appointed to the post in May 2024. She was appointed as Minister of Foreign Affairs on 14 April this year following changes to the Cabinet.
During her time in the United Kingdom, she played a key role in strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries, with efforts focused on advancing cooperation in trade, tourism, climate change and foreign investment.
