Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) has announced its plans to host the second edition of the Guesthouse Symposium, scheduled to take place on October 2 at Crossroads Maldives.

The event is set to provide a platform for the discussion of challenges within the guesthouse sector, while also offering insights from seasoned professionals in the tourism industry.

During a recent media briefing, MIB’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Ahmed Riza, reflected on the success of last year’s symposium and conveyed the Bank’s expectation of strong participation once again. He indicated that, similar to the previous year, the event aims to accommodate approximately 150 participants, adding that the Bank is hopeful the response will surpass initial projections.

The symposium is expected to attract a diverse group of attendees, not only from guesthouses but also from a broad spectrum of tourism-related businesses. In addition, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) engaged in tourism services will be given the opportunity to exhibit their products and initiatives by setting up stalls at the venue.

The inaugural Guesthouse Symposium, held the previous year, recorded an attendance of over 150 participants. MIB has confirmed that online registration for this year’s symposium will be made available shortly, with further details to be announced in due course.
