Muli Airport officially opens for commercial flights

Regional Airports Limited has officially opened Meemu Muli Airport for commercial operations today. 

Test flights were launched to Muli Airport last month, and the airport was officially opened on May 2, 2025.

Following the  Civil Aviation Authority’s assessment, the airport is now officially open for commercial flights. 

Regional Airports Limited revealed that they have opened opportunities for local airlines such as Maldivian, Villa, and Manta to provide commercial flights to operate commercial flights. 

Located on Muli Island, the capital of Meemu Atoll, the domestic airport features a 1,500-metre runway.

The project commenced in 2021 on 36 hectares of reclaimed land and was developed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) at a cost exceeding MVR 300 million.
