The Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) has announced that applications for crime and debt record clearance must be submitted through the eFaas portal starting from May 15.

In a notice issued on May 8, the DJA stated that the shift to the digital platform was made to improve convenience and efficiency. Individuals seeking to clear their records must now apply via the public portal records.judiciary.gov.mv, developed specifically for this purpose.

The department further noted that manual submissions using the existing forms will be accepted only until June 1. After this date, individual requests made outside the eFaas system will no longer be processed.

While public services will transition fully to the online platform, Government agencies will continue to follow current internal procedures. However, institutional requests, whether from state offices or private companies must include a formal letter from the respective office or company along with the application.
