Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the alleged physical abuse of a child undergoing therapy at a physiotherapy clinic.
A video circulating online appears to show the child being mistreated during a therapy session. Authorities have confirmed that an investigation is underway.
The arrests were made yesterday under a court order. The suspects have been identified as Indian nationals Rajeswari Sivakumar, 24, and Esha Antonnette. Both have been remanded in custody for 15 days pending further investigation.
The physiotherapy clinic where the incident occurred has issued a formal statement condemning the behaviour shown in the video, describing it as wholly unacceptable and a clear breach of the clinic’s professional standards.
Following the discovery, the clinic took immediate disciplinary action and terminated the employment of the two staff members involved. It has since been temporarily closed to facilitate full cooperation with the ongoing police investigation.
According to the clinic’s management, the matter was promptly reported to the authorities. Relevant video footage has been submitted to assist the inquiry, and the clinic has pledged its full cooperation with the appropriate investigative bodies.
The incident is being treated with the utmost seriousness by both law enforcement and the healthcare facility involved.
