China has opened applications for the MOFCOM Scholarship University Program 2025 to Maldivian students. 

These include 14 PhD and 25 Masters opportunities. All expenses of the scholarship recipients will be covered by the Chinese government.

The Ministry of Higher Education, Labour and Skill Development stated the Chinese government will provide tuition fees, on-campus accommodation, stipend, resettlement fees, medical insurance and return tickets.

Applicants must be under 45 years of age as of September 1, 2025, have at least three years of work experience in a field related to the intended course of study, and be currently employed in the public sector. In addition, applicants must meet the admission requirements of the chosen university.

Applications can be submitted through the Ministry’s portal by 02:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025.
