First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed attended the opening ceremony of the ‘Ufakaara’ training programme in Fuvahmulah City on Thursday.

Organised in partnership between the Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) and Fuvahmulah City Council, the training aims to improve food quality and safety among vendors and producers and will run until May 17.

A total of 86 individuals from the food manufacturing sector will receive training on food safety, quality enhancement, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

The First Lady has supported the ‘Ufakaara’ programme since its inception in 2017, regularly participating and sharing her knowledge to empower food entrepreneurs.
