The President’s Office, together with the British High Commission in the Maldives, successfully wrapped up the two-day national security tabletop exercise, “Amaan Asseyri 2025,” designed to strengthen the country’s preparedness against emerging security threats.
This two-day exercise played a crucial role in enhancing national preparedness and improving inter-agency coordination to effectively respond to potential terrorism-related emergencies, aiming to evaluate and strengthen response capabilities and decision-making processes.
This two-day exercise brought together key national institutions to test and evaluate the effectiveness of the National Terrorism Response Plan (NTRP), strengthening coordinated efforts against potential terrorism threats.
The Government has been placing priority on the safety and security of its people, as well as the protection of the nation’s sovereignty and independence.
The “Amaan Asseyri 2025” exercise, alongside the National Terrorism Response Plan (NTRP), was designed to operationalize this commitment by strengthening the government’s response to national security threats.
The exercise saw active participation from senior policymakers and representatives of eleven key ministries and agencies. Ministers and high-level officials engaged in strategic discussions, ensuring the exercise generated valuable insights and actionable outcomes.
Exercise “Amaan Asseyri 2025,” held at Crossroads Maldives from May 26-27, was facilitated by the British High Commission in the Maldives and marks a significant milestone in Maldives-UK security cooperation. This partnership underscores their shared commitment to building a safer, more resilient Maldives through the structured delivery of expertise and assistance.
