A new facility for journalists, Media Fenda, has been launched in Malé City to improve access to information from the President’s Office and nearby Government institutions.

The facility, located directly opposite the President’s Office, was inaugurated on Thursday by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.

To ensure continued access to official information, Media Fenda is set to operate on all Government working days. Journalists will also be able to access the facility 24 hours a day, including weekends and public holidays, upon request.

The President’s Office has confirmed that, as the facility is located within the Green Zone, standard security protocols will be enforced and access will be limited to Maldivian media organisations officially registered with the Maldives Media Council. Journalists must also obtain a special access permit to use the facility.

Media Fenda complements the Administration’s broader efforts to promote transparency and public engagement. Other initiatives include the Ahaa Ministerial Forum, which allows members of the public to question cabinet ministers directly, and the President’s Rayyithunnaa Eku podcast, where President Dr Muizzu responds to pressing public concerns.
