Visit Maldives and Singapore Airlines host Japanese trade familiarisation trip

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), in collaboration with Singapore Airlines, is hosting an exclusive familiarisation trip for leading Japanese travel trade representatives from May 31 to June 5, 2025.

The familiarisation trip follows the arrival of 12,157 Japanese tourists in the Maldives as of April 22, 2025. In an effort to increase this number, the MMPRC is offering delegates an immersive experience of the Maldives’ signature offerings.

Participants are currently visiting two leading resorts, Centara Ras Fushi Maldives and Pullman Maldives Maamutaa, where they will engaging in tailored travel experiences specifically designed for Japanese travellers.The initiative aims to strengthen tourism ties with Japan and promote the Maldives as a premier destination for family and wellness tourism.

The familiarisation visit is part of a broader strategy to deepen the Maldives' footprint in the Japanese market. Visit Maldives has announced a robust promotional calendar for the year, including collaborative marketing campaigns with tour operators and travel agencies, further familiarisation trips for media and influencers, and a dedicated Maldives Roadshow across the Far East.

This latest campaign builds upon previous initiatives, such as the recently held JOTC Quarterly Webinar.
