The State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has restored power to large sections of Malé and Hulhumalé, assuring full restoration across all affected areas before sunset.

At the press conference held today, STELCO officials announced that electricity has been restored to 60 per cent of households in Malé City and 78 per cent in Hulhumalé.

STELCO stated that power has been fully restored in Hulhumalé Phase One, while efforts are ongoing to restore electricity to Phase Two, including Hiyaa Towers 1 to 8 and the Vinares Flats.

STELCO stated that its immediate priority is restoring electricity to affected areas, with fault identification to follow. The company assured that once the issue is fully identified, the details will be made public.

To prevent further complications in the grid, STELCO is restoring power gradually across specific areas rather than all at once.
