Authorities have launched an investigation after the body of a man was discovered at Bandaara Koshi on Sunday night, the Maldives Police Service confirmed.

Police said the deceased was a 35-year-old Maldivian man. While the identity has not been disclosed, officials confirmed he was a member of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).

According to police, the man was found dead inside a toilet at a military facility. No further details have been released as the investigation is ongoing.

Authorities have not yet commented on the circumstances surrounding the death or whether foul play is suspected.
