The Maldives Police Service has stated that a foreign national was injured in an early morning attack involving a sharp object in Malé City.

According to police, the incident occurred near Shaheedhu Kudanevi Thuththu Manik Hingun and was reported at approximately 3:10 a.m. on Monday.

The victim, identified as a Bangladeshi man, sustained injuries in the attack and was transported to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
