Shaviyani Funadhoo Airport has been temporarily closed due to a technical issue, according to a statement issued by Maldivian Airlines on Saturday.

The national airline announced via a post on X that flights will not operate to or from the airport until the issue is resolved. The airline has assured passengers that alternative travel arrangements are being coordinated for those affected, and that each passenger will be contacted directly by the airline’s staff.

Maldivian apologised for the inconvenience and encouraged customers to reach out to its call centre at 1671 for assistance or further information.

Funadhoo Airport, which began operations in February 2020, serves both residents of Shaviyani Atoll and tourists visiting the region.
