The fifth and final session of the High Achievers’ Award 2024 ceremony was held on Sunday night at the Maldives Centre for Social Education (MCSE), honouring students who attained the highest results in the 2023 and 2024 secondary and higher secondary examinations.

The two-day ceremony, divided into five sessions across Saturday and Sunday, concluded with President Dr Mohamed Muizzu attending the final session as the Guest of Honour. The session celebrated students who ranked among the national top 10, achieved first place, or earned international accolades in their examinations.

During the event, President Dr Muizzu presented awards to two recipients of the “Outstanding Pearson Learner Award”, a global distinction granted to students who achieve the highest marks in Pearson Edexcel qualifications. He also presented awards to 57 students who ranked first worldwide in individual subjects at the secondary level, and 21 students who secured the top scores nationally in the same category.

In addition, 11 students who placed first among the national top 10 in the higher secondary examinations were awarded scholarship letters under the Presidential Scholarship scheme.

This year, more than 1,800 students received High Achievers’ Awards across both the secondary and higher secondary levels.
