The Government will inaugurate the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) ferry service in Raa Atoll on 26 June, the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has announced.

To support public familiarisation, RTL ferry trips will be offered free of charge across the atoll from 26 June to 2 July.

Ticketed services will commence on 3 July via the RTL website and mobile application.

RTL ferry services are currently operational in Laamu and Noonu Atolls under Zone 2 of the national public transport network. With the addition of Raa Atoll, the service will expand to cover a total of 10 atolls nationwide.

The project is being implemented in three phases across six zones through the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

Following the commencement of operations in Raa Atoll, the Government will begin preparations to extend the service to Baa Atoll.

MTCC aims to roll out RTL ferry service to all atolls by the end of the year as part of ongoing efforts to enhance inter-island connectivity across the Maldives.
