President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed his Administration’s commitment to strengthening the role of Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in driving sustainable economic growth.

In a message posted on his official X account to mark International MSMEs Day, the President described MSMEs as key to economic diversification and innovation in both the Maldives and globally. He reiterated the Government’s efforts to empower entrepreneurs through inclusive financing and improved market access.

“We remain committed to empowering MSMEs through inclusive financing and improved access to markets,” the President stated, adding that his Administration aims to build a supportive ecosystem where small businesses can thrive.

He also highlighted the momentum generated by Maldives Expo 2025, stating that the Government would continue to expand opportunities for MSMEs in line with the national goal of becoming a developed country by 2040.

The President’s message echoes this year’s global theme, which focuses on enhancing the role of MSMEs as drivers of sustainable growth and innovation.
