The Maldives Police Service has issued a road safety advisory for travel on bridges and the highway today, following a swell wave surge warning from the Maldives Meteorological Service (MET).

According to police, the public is advised to exercise caution when travelling on these routes between 1:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. today due to potentially hazardous conditions. Authorities have recommended using four-wheeled vehicles during this period for added safety.

The MET has issued a White Alert across the country, warning of possible swell wave surges within the same timeframe. Authorities have urged caution, especially for those at sea, and advised the public to stay vigilant amid the potential for worsening weather conditions.
