Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has arrived in Seville, Spain, to attend the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4), scheduled to take place from June 30 to July 3.

The conference brings together governments, international and regional organisations, financial and trade institutions, businesses, civil society, and the United Nations system for high-level dialogue on financial reform.

During the visit, the Vice President will deliver a statement at the opening plenary and participate in thematic multi-stakeholder roundtables, where he will underscore the Maldives’ ongoing financial reform efforts.

He is also expected to call on the international community to support global debt sustainability and promote more inclusive representation in financial decision-making. In addition, he will speak at side events hosted by the Maldives, alongside senior government officials engaging in high-level discussions throughout the conference.

The previous FfD conference was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in 2015.
